Toddler Thursday 2/10

Welcome again to Toddler Thursday!  I hope that you will find something here to read to that little someone in your life.  All of my picks are kid-tested.

Charlie’s Superhero Underpants by Paul Bright and Lee Wildish                                            Good Books, May 2010

You will love, love, love this book.  It is the story of a little boy named Charlie who loses his superhero underpants in a freak windstorm.  He pulls out all the stops to find the magical pants, traveling across the world and learning as he goes.  It is a great book to get boys interested in reading; if for nothing else, they will laugh every time the world ‘underpants’ is mentioned.  As a girl, I must admit that I laughed too.

Llama, Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney Viking Juvenile, May 2005

Little Llama has to go to bed.  But as any parent knows, getting your little llama to sleep is easier said than done.  This follows Little Llama and Mama Llama through this night-time ritual.  I read this to Maddie every night before bed.  It is also great if you have a little one that is going through a tough time with sleeping.  Plus that llama is too darn cute.

Skippyjon Jones by Judy Schachner Puffin, April 2007

Meet Skippyjon Jones, the funniest cat that you will ever meet.  But if you meet him, whatever you do, do not tell him he is a cat.  He thinks he’s a chihuahua and no one can convince him otherwise.  I laugh every time that I read this book and your child will too.  So jump in and find out how one little cat is fulling his big dreams.
